Moving On
For most of our girls, the move to secondary school is a highly positive and exciting experience. At Bowdon Prep we value how important it is for pupils to be well prepared. Although many aspects of transition are an integral part of school life, our aim is that all our girls move on confidently and ready for any challenges that they may face.
This week we were very pleased to welcome back four past pupils who now attend Altrincham Grammar School for Girls to provide an insight into daily life and to impart their wisdom regarding school transition. As all of our Year 6 girls will continue their education within schools with a strong academic focus, they found it a highly informative experience.
Our past pupils helped the Year 6 girls to prepare by addressing worries, reassuring and encouraging them and explaining what to expect from their new school. With the majority of our girls moving on to Altrincham Grammar School, it was extremely comforting for them to hear about the friendliness of the older girls, the enrichment opportunities on offer and the fact that they found the school work interesting.
