Young Scientists

5th February 2018

On 1 February 2018, Year 5 enjoyed a science trip to Jodrell Bank. We visited the Planet Pavilion where we enjoyed learning about the planets, Nebulas and Galaxies. In the Space Pavilion we discovered more about how telescopes work and every pupil was able to receive a radio signal print out from the Lovell Telescope. We also participated in two workshops, the first of which was investigating how the Mars rover ‘Curiosity’ was safely landed on planet Mars. The second workshop was a visit to Jodrell Banks’ planetarium, where we learned more about the planets, stars and constellations. Our girls were a credit to the school and the strength of our pupils’ scientific knowledge was complimented upon by the staff at Jodrell Bank.
