Videos of Poetry by Heart finalists

Following on from our poetry event before half term the ‘Poetry by Heart’ final winners were videoed and submitted as entries to the national competition . We should hear over the next few weeks how our girls got on.

In the group competition the BPS winners were Year 6 girls, Florence H and Harriet J who recited ‘The Story of Little Suck-a-Thumb’ by Heinrich Hoffmann.

The individual winner, who had to select 2 poems, one pre 1914 and one post 1914, was Dania (Y6) who recited The Sleepy Giant by Charles E. Carryl (see the video below) and Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf by Roald Dhal.
